Product Information

Cream and beige go with just about anything, that's why these classic tumbled travertine tiles are so easy to work with. Complemented by their tumbled finish, the tiles can be used on any residential project. In some cases it can also be used in light commercial project . Use them to recapture the beauty of an old farmhouse or style them up with a funky mosaic to bring them bang up to date.

Tumbled tiles add great depth to any flooring. They deliver a rough and a pitted surface, and broken, rounded edges and corners. It is the process by which stone is tumbled or vibrated with smaller abrasives to produce an aged appearance. There might be slight variations in colour, but veins and other patterns are generally absent. The result is an area that feels rustic and relaxed yet sumptuous at the same time.

Installation & Care

All products listed here can be purchased from our online store (Adhesive, grout, sealers or maintenance items).

General Information for Tile & Stone:

  • Substrate should be clean, dry, level and should not move. Decoupling membranes are recommended for flooring applications if shift in substrate is expected.
  • Dimensions listed here are nominal as slight variations in size and thickness may occur with most stone & porcelain tiles.
  • Minor edge chipping may occur in handling, installation & transport. During installation process, these can be used as cuts.
  • Natural stone can vary in colour, tone, size (within tolerance). During installation, mixing the tiles naturally (blending) are recommended rather than using similar shades together.

Adhesive:
  • Flexible adhesive is recommended, particularly substrates with movement, or when underfloor heating is at present or planned in installations.
  • All tiles must be solidly bedded.
  • Standard set adhesive sets slowly (24 hours) whereas fast set adhesive sets within 3 hours (depending on weather conditions).

Grouting:

  • Apply grout at least 12 hours after the tile installation.
  • Select width joint accordingly to accommodate any variation in tile sizes.
  • We recommend the use of flexible grouts.
  • When mixing multiple sizes together (i.e. patterns) the grout joint may vary in width between the varying sizes of tiles within the pattern.

Sealing & Maintenance:

  • All natural stone tiles need sealing during installation; Generally we recommend to apply one coat before grouting and one coat after grouting.
  • Depending on usage of the floor, re-seal the tiles every 6-12 months.
  • Use maintenance products that are manufactured for natural stone. Do not use acidic cleaners.

I need a small quantity of 100x100 travertine tiles Do you have any in stock and what shades are available

    • Stone Deals

Hello Mr Martin As of writing this e-mail, we have no stock of this item with the latest ETA information on this product being available within the 1st week of July however, delays are possible. In regards to specific shades on natural stones, this is almost impossible to determine with natural stones as each tile is a unique item sourced from natural ground therefore, we can not determine actual shades or the number of different shades for natural tiles on an order. We hope this is helpful.
