Product Information

Light beige with creamy undertones; these honed tiles look great just about anywhere. These very minimalist limestone tiles with brown specs are great if you're a fan of simple designs. They are consistent in colouring with usual natural variances, suitable for residential applications, walls and floors.

A honed surface provides a flat, matt finish creating a more informal and softer look. This finish is created by stopping short of the last stage of polishing. A honed finish shows fewer scratches, and requires very little maintenance. It goes very well with minimalist designs.

Installation & Care

All products listed here can be purchased from our online store (Adhesive, grout, sealers or maintenance items).

General Information for Tile & Stone:

  • Substrate should be clean, dry, level and should not move. Decoupling membranes are recommended for flooring applications if shift in substrate is expected.
  • Dimensions listed here are nominal as slight variations in size and thickness may occur with most stone & porcelain tiles.
  • Minor edge chipping may occur in handling, installation & transport. During installation process, these can be used as cuts.
  • Natural stone can vary in colour, tone, size (within tolerance). During installation, mixing the tiles naturally (blending) are recommended rather than using similar shades together.

Adhesive:
  • Flexible adhesive is recommended, particularly substrates with movement, or when underfloor heating is at present or planned in installations.
  • All tiles must be solidly bedded.
  • Standard set adhesive sets slowly (24 hours) whereas fast set adhesive sets within 3 hours (depending on weather conditions).

Grouting:

  • Apply grout at least 12 hours after the tile installation.
  • Select width joint accordingly to accommodate any variation in tile sizes.
  • We recommend the use of flexible grouts.
  • When mixing multiple sizes together (i.e. patterns) the grout joint may vary in width between the varying sizes of tiles within the pattern.

Sealing & Maintenance:

  • All natural stone tiles need sealing during installation; Generally we recommend to apply one coat before grouting and one coat after grouting.
  • Depending on usage of the floor, re-seal the tiles every 6-12 months.
  • Use maintenance products that are manufactured for natural stone. Do not use acidic cleaners.

Are these suitable for bathroom walls as well as floors?

    • Stone Deals

Limestones are quite porous natural stones compared to other stone ranges, we recommend that they are sealed with the correct sealer before use, the main thing to consider is their weight due to their size and thickness therefore, they are generally not preferred for wall applications. We hope this is helpful.

Hello, we are looking for some floor tiles that would be suitable for underfloor heating in an orangery that we are having built. We like these ones, Moleanos Fine Grain Limestone - Honed. we would also have a spa in the room. Are they quite safe when wet or slippery? Would these be suitable? Please advise.

    • Stone Deals

Good afternoon Thank you for your email Although these tiles are not classeed as anti-slip tiles, they are much more suitable then any polished finished tiles to use in an area that will get wet, they are also suitable for underfloor heating with use of matting. Hope this was helpful For all other queries please do feel free to contact us and we will do our best to help
