2025 Spring Cleaning

It's the time of year when we can smell the blossoms, feel the warmth of the sun, and look forward to that well-earned summer vacation, spring is here.

Even though we understand it might be a little overwhelming at first, we are here to guide you with your spring cleaning. If you are a meticulous individual, the knowledge of your natural stone tiles are as clean and fresh looking as the day they were first laid is one of the most satisfying and most fulfilling feelings.

Where should you start and progress to?

Planning and outlining your cleaning stages is key to streamline your day.

Since most of us only use our bedrooms for a good night's beauty sleep, it is usually a good idea to start with these areas of your house that may be least visited during the day.

Therefore, starting with the bedrooms will guarantee that your tiles have enough time to completely dry after being thoroughly cleaned, before you return to this space for your beauty sleep at night.
If you live in a multi story property, it is recommended to begin from the top floor and work your way down. This will guarantee that you can avoid excessing these areas while your immaculately cleaned tiles have time to completely dry.

Next recommended will be the bathroom/shower areas, as these areas will be used more frequently.

Following on from the bathroom/shower area, you can movie onto cleaning the lower level living spaces before moving on to the kitchen/dining area.

Cleaning:
Well we all wish it was that simple, that's the plan of method of cleaning out the way, now roll your sleeves up, the hard but most satisfying stage is next.

When deep cleaning natural stone tiles, it is important to know the sensitivity of your tiles, because some cleaning products can actually damage and cause defects on some natural stones, while others might be perfectly suitable. There are products out there that are specifically made to be used on natural stone tiles, these would be the best options for thoroughly cleaning your stone tiles.

For simple and easy surface cleaning, we advise using just lukewarm water and a small amount of washing up liquid, if you are currently limited to using household materials. Otherwise, a company we would recommend for cleaning products, LTP, provide wonderful products to deep cleaning all surfaces.

Following a deep cleaning session, a fast rinse and drying should be sufficient. To help preserve natural stones until your next deep cleaning session, always remember to re-seal your natural stone tiles.

For polished finish natural stone tiles, use our LTP MPG Polished Tile Sealer, for honed or matt finish natural stone tiles, use our LTP Mattstone Impregnating Tile Sealer.
