Is Mattstone suitable on Hearth below Woodburner which will throw out a fair bit of heat

    • Stone Deals

Hello, The LTP Mattstone sealer we supply is suitable to use with our tiles, our tiles can be used as a hearth as long they are not in direct contact with a naked flame. I hope this has been helpful.

How long does this take to dry please? Is the idea that I would lay my tiles on the floor ready for grouting, I would then put one layer of this on, and then leave it to set before I would grout?

    • Stone Deals

Hello, Thank you for your question. The drying time is approx 30 minutes, however, the bottle will have more detailed information on this. It is recommended you wait for the first coat to dry before applying the second coat, it is possible to grout tiles in between the first and 2nd coat application. I hope this has been helpful.

Brazilian black slate ... Will it need more than 1 coat ?

    • Stone Deals

Hello, Thank you for your question. We recommend sealing our natural stone twice, once before grouting and once after and then every 6-12 months, I hope this has been helpful

Is this the preferred one for limestone, or should I use your other product?

    • Stone Deals

Hello Christopher, rather than stone types, these sealers are manufactured to be suitable for certain stone finishes like polished or honed/matt finish. This particular sealer is suitable for any honed or matt finish natural stones. We hope this is helpful.

Hi, does this sealer darken the tile or dry as invisible?

    • Stone Deals

Hello Andrew, our matt stone sealer does not darken the stones or change their appearance in any way. Initial application may seem that way as with anything that gets wet however, this soon embeds and dissipates to show the natural tone of the stone itself.
