Hello, I want to use these to cover my wood burning chimney breast - not the inside, the outside walls, with the heat produced from the wood burner, will these stand up to the job and will I need a special adhesive to consider the heat element? Many thanks, Tom
Hi Tom, As long as the tiles are not exposed to direct flames or extreme heat, they will be fine to use. Considering the adhesives, our stock are for regular installations so we would recommend you enquire with your installers as to the suitable adhesive for such installation.
I have received a sample but would like to buy an individual tile so I can see the whole range of colours. Am I able to do this? Thanks
Thank you for your query. We use Royal mail to ship our samples, due to their fragile nature we can only send out smaller samples as this will less likely damage during transit. I would like to use this cladding as a "waterwall". Any reason why this would be a bad idea with this type of cladding? i could use a waterproof membrane if they adhered better, but it was more whether i would get any other problems, such tiles falling off or whether i need to finish them with a waterproof protector?
Good morning Thank you for your query We do advise to use a waterproof membrane when the cladding tiles are installed outdoors for the purpose of rainy weather conditions, however for a water-wall feature you could also follow the same steps to ensure the wall is protected with a membrane as cladding tiles can not be grouted. We do always advise in consulting with a professional tiler as each installation can be very specific. A waterproof membrane is just another layer that is installed between the tiles and the wall, this protects the walls from water exposure. You can purchase this from builders merchant or online, more information your tiler should be able to provide with. We always recommend flexible adhesive to use with natural stones. Good morning Thank you for your email query The cladding come as a Z shape piece, they will need to be cut in order to fit them into an internal corner, as they are fragile natural stones your tiler will be able to advise which blade is best used to cut the tiles down to size. Good morning Thank you for your query Due to the varying thickness of the smaller individual tiles that are used to making the sheets of claddings, the overall thickness can vary between 8-13mm however on rare occasions sometimes this difference can even be slightly more. Some damaged tiles Helpful staff, I received my order but it had a few broken tiles, I guess it is hard to avoid damages altogether with such fragile items, we still made use of them as the cladding design seems to be more forgiving.
